Mr Paul Evans – Chair of Governors
I am privileged to be the Chair of Governors of St Lawrence’s school. The school plays a big role in my family with our two boys attending St Lawrence’s since reception year. They are currently in year 5 and they enjoy school very much. I personally work in Finance and HR and my professional knowledge allows me to support the school, our governors and indeed parents in a number of ways. Our biggest strength at St Lawrence’s are our values and as a governing body we strive to support the pupils to “Be the Best they can be”
Mrs Pat Jones – Foundation Governor
I am honoured to be appointed as a Foundation Governor to St. Lawrence’s School. The role of the Foundation Governor is that of being a representative of St. Lawrence’s Church, where I am an active member. It is a privilege to work with St. Lawrence’s school, to witness the spiritual growth of the children and to see the ethos of the school in action. This is my second term as Governor, the first being a Community Governor from 2010 to 2014.
Rachel Voiculescu – Parent Governor
I am Rachel Voiculescu, one of the Parent Governors at St Lawrence. I am mummy to two children currently in Year 5 and Year 1. Prior to becoming temporarily retired and taking on the role of full time mummy, I was a Primary School Teacher. I believe in education and am passionate about the importance of children’s introduction to, and early experience of, education and the very important role that Primary School Teachers have in that experience. I believe that my professional experience together with my current role as a parent gives me a valuable and balanced outlook on helping the “St Lawrence Family” to be the best they can be.
Mrs Helen Ashby – Co-opted Governor
I first became a Parent Governor in September 2010, and then moved to become a Community Governor. I am a qualified Doctor, who works full time in many West Midlands Hospitals.
Miss Susan North MBE – Co-opted Governor
I am pleased to be a Governor of St Lawrence’s school and think it is a unique and positive school that offers a great learning environment for children. Professionally I am a qualified social worker who worked for many years in a range of local authorities. More recently I have led a programme of work as a delivery partner for the Department for Education supporting the Special Educational Needs and Disability Reforms. I currently work for NHS England and am the Transforming Care National Children and Young People’s lead. My professional background helps to support the school in these areas. I believe every child deserves the best start in life they can get, and am committed to supporting St Lawrence’s to ensure this is the experience of every one of our pupils.
Anyone that is interested in becoming a Governor, please contact the Chair of Governors or the School Office.
